River Plate Stadium

The Monumental Stadium, also known as the Monumental de Núñez, River Plate Stadium, or due to sponsorship reasons as Mâs Monumental Stadium, is a sports venue located at the intersection of Figueroa Alcorta and Udaondo avenues in the Belgrano neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is owned by Club Atlético River Plate and was inaugurated on May 26, 1938, by the then-president Antonio Vespucio Liberti, who also decided its construction.

The Monumental Stadium of River Plate is the largest stadium in Argentina and South America, with a maximum capacity of 83,214 spectators. It stands on land reclaimed from the swampy coast of the Río de la Plata.
